Peaches Geldof brags about her juicing diet
A very thin Peaches Geldof has been criticized for bragging about how she achieves her weight loss. The 22-year-old explained how she can shed four to five kilograms [10 lbs] by consuming only vegetable juice for thirty days.
One dietician called the starlet ‘braindead’ and said she is risking ‘acute cardiac arrest.’
According to a well known magazine, Peaches said: “I do juicing. You juice vegetables and then you drink it three times a day. It’s gross. I do it usually for about a month. I have no willpower but with the juicing I’m like, I have to do it because I have to lose this extra ten pounds.”
Showing her less-than-healthy attitude to food, she added: “I will lose it then I’m back going mental for the chips. I’ll juice and then I eat chips.”
Peaches appears to have lost a tremendous amount of weight since 2009 and in recent months she has admitted she still has days when she wakes up and thinks “I’m so fat.”
She tried to reassure her worried fans by tweeting that her dieting is under control, she wrote ; “To those telling me I look skinny and to eat something, I can assure you I’ve just cut out eating crap. I still eat like a horse.”
Peaches said that she feels very aware of the pressure to be thin in the media spotlight. “Sometimes it’s hard. If you open any high-fashion magazine, the girls in it are stick-thin and then they’ve been airbrushed down to the point where it’s just ludicrousness.”
A spokeswoman for the British Dietetic Association, reportedly stated, “Peaches joins a long line of celebs who are brain-dead when it comes to nutrition.” “Surviving on fruit is a very dangerous diet and Peaches is at high risk of electrolyte abnormalities which could lead to acute cardiac arrest.”
The spokeswoman also said, “Rapid dieting like this not only makes you lose muscle strength but wastes away your internal organs. It is what kills anorexics. It is a stupid approach and it is irresponsible to promote this sort of disordered eating. It’s worrying that somebody who has money and access to contacts would pick such a ridiculous way to diet.”
We also think that rapid dieting in this way is inadvisable and recommend a more balanced way to lose weight or cleanse your system, especially if you do have health problems.
Peaches Geldof also used heroin a few years back [we are not sure whether she still does] and, as the photographs below show, she obviously needed a powerful detox cleanse.
Juicing does seem to work for Peaches even if she approaches dieting and health in her own radical way.
